Ex UPS Platform R. STAHL

Uncompromised Safety

The most flexible power UPS system on the market

UPS for 100 % process reliability

In times of increasing relevance of decentral power supplies and decreasing reliability of the power supply networks, uninterruptable power supplies (UPS) become more and more important. R. STAHL, with its more than 80 years of experience in explosion protection, is able to transfer the requirements of a modern UPS system into systems, which are suitable for use in explosion-protected areas.

R. STAHL can supply various types of UPS systems. The design can be either a standard design or a design based on customer requirements. Depending on the demands of reliability and fault safety, the appropriate system can be engineered. Options for designs can be without redundancy, with partly redundant elements and 100 % redundant systems. Also the criteria to
use modular or monoblock design has influence on availability and fault safety.

R. STAHL's modular UPS systems are designed specifically for critical operations in challenging and hazardous environments. Our systems ensure maximum uptime, delivering consistent and reliable power to protect your equipment and minimize costly interruptions. Even during prolonged power outages, our technology guarantees seamless and controlled operation.

What sets our power UPS systems apart is their use of cutting-edge power electronics, such as IGBT or SCR chargers and IGBT inverters, which perform optimally even in extreme temperatures up to +60°C. The thoughtful selection of durable components with high safety margins supports efficient natural cooling. Additionally, our innovative coldplates and thermally optimized chargers are engineered to dissipate heat effectively, further boosting system reliability.

Key Advantages:

  • Innovative Multi-Enclosure Design: Our UPS systems feature a unique design that integrates multiple Ex d and Ex e enclosures, all connected via certified cable bushings and mounted on a single frame. This smart configuration allows for easy isolation of individual enclosures, clear function assignment, and extended component lifespan through effective thermal separation. Additionally, it simplifies maintenance and offers a more compact solution compared to traditional conduit connections.

  • Seamless Integration: The all-in-one design with plug-and-play functionality ensures straightforward installation and operation. With everything pre-configured and assembled at the factory, no on-site interconnection between different components is needed. This design provides quick and easy access to the Ex e connection chamber for both incoming and outgoing cables.

  • Unmatched Flexibility and Scalability: R. STAHL's UPS systems are among the most adaptable on the market. The modular design allows the system to scale to meet the demands of even the harshest offshore conditions, with capacities reaching up to 50 kW for DC and 30 kVA for AC applications.
