Corporate Governance describes the management and control of companies. It covers the complete management and monitoring system of a company, its organization, business policy and principles, as well as the internal and external control and monitoring mechanisms. The objective of Corporate Governance is to provide a responsible management and control of the company, geared towards a sustainable value creation. It promotes trust of national and international investors and business partners, of the public and of the employees. An essential prerequisite is the close and efficient cooperation between Executive Board and Supervisory Board, the respect for shareholder interests, an open corporate communication, as well as a responsible management of risks and compliance with legal regulations and internal group rules.

Corporate Governance is not a rigid system of rules and regulations, but a process of continuously progressing principles and standards – in line with current requirements.
