PRESS RELEASE

With its decision for Engineering Base, R. STAHL lays the foundation for the group-wide harmonization of planning and production software

Waldenburg, 12 December 2019 – R. STAHL, leading supplier of products and systems for explosion protection, will in future rely on the software solution Engineering Base of company Aucotec AG in all group-wide planning and production areas. The engineering software, which has already been in use at several locations for some time, thus becomes the worldwide uniform standard for R. STAHL.

"For technology companies such as R. STAHL, the operational value levers lie primarily in the areas of innovation and process efficiency. By choosing Engineering Base, we have laid the foundation for the introduction of a uniform planning and manufacturing software within the Group and thus created the basic prerequisite for a central management of the production processes at our worldwide locations," says Dr Mathias Hallmann, CEO of R. STAHL. "In addition to the complete SAP integration, Engineering Base also convinced us because of the low implementation effort that is required," Dr Hallmann continues.

The harmonization of the IT systems is an essential component of the efficiency program R. STAHL 2020 that was launched last year and of the company's digitization strategy, which is being driven forward both in product development and in administrative and production processes. After having chosen SAP as its worldwide ERP system last year, with Engineering Base, R. STAHL has now also defined a group-wide standard in the field of planning and manufacturing software. The implementation will have a positive impact on capacity utilization, manufacturing costs and delivery times and shall be completed at all locations by 2022.
