HMI VISUALISATION SOFTWARE AND OPERATING SYSTEMS

The REMOTE HMI firmware is a Thin Client software developed for the process industry, which is supplied together with R. STAHL Thin Clients - available for the ORCA, SHARK, MANTA and EAGLE device platforms and the industrial-box PC. The firmware is used to configure, establish and secure remote connections to application servers, or, in the simplest case, to a workstation. This provides easy remote access from one operating station to one or more workstations within a network.

R. STAHL supports its customers with a wide range of software options, including FREE CONFIGURATION with any operating system. On request, R. STAHL panel PCs can therefore be provided without any operating system but with all relevant drivers. Alternatively, we can also configure a PXE boot. PXE stands for PREBOOT EXECUTION ENVIRONMENT, which is a method for starting a terminal computer (Client) with only a network card.

Advantages of the PXE boot:

For Client computers, operating systems and hard disks are integrated, and the PXE boot is carried out directly from the BIOS. In the case of a hardware or software error, the Client computer can easily be restarted. It enables the administrator to diagnose the problem. New computers can easily be added to the network because PXE is manufacturer-independent. Using the PXE reduces the time spent on servers, and the installation tools are centralised and thus easier to update. System maintenance or installations for several computers without having to insert CDs or USB sticks can be carried out easily via the PXE boot. This also applies to all cases where the computer does not start up properly.

"Without operating system" or "PXE boot" can be configured on SHARK, MANTA, EAGLE and ORCA device platforms.

Our MANTA, SHARK and ORCA device platforms are IGEL-READY, meaning they were verified for integrity with the IGEL OS by both IGEL and R. STAHL. The IGEL OS has been specially developed for Cloud services and for access to virtual environments. It supports a great number of remote display protocols and technology integrations. IGEL OS is based on a particularly secure Linux distribution, which thanks to its minimal vulnerability provides maximum protection against malware.

On request, R. STAHL will support and configure their Panel PCs with the most secure Windows system to date. Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC is ideal for applications in larger companies. For example, this operating system features the option of simple participation in an internal company network via DirectAccess. When it comes to security, Windows 10 Enterprise also raises the bar. Here, the Windows Defender features many additional functions, providing even better security. You can also specify which applications can be used by which members of staff, further improving security and productivity across the entire company.

WHY CHOOSE WINDOWS 10 ENTERPRISE LTSC?

The Windows 10 operating systems are constantly updated. Unlike the Windows Home editions, the Enterprise editions have no function updates at all, since these carry certain risks and may render the system unstable. The Windows Enterprise only undergo security updates for a period of 10 years, ensuring a high level of system stability.

The MOVICON 11.6 securely and reliably covers areas such as visualisation, operating, monitoring, data capture and data analysis.With its XML-inside technology, this SCADA/HMI platform provides an excellent development environment for HMI, SCADA, logic and statistics analysis applications for production data.

XML environment:

MOVICON™ 11 is fully XML-based. The projects are simple XML files and can also be opened and edited with other editors. From the start, the platform has been compatible with Windows™ applications.  

User-friendly programming environment

MOVICON™11 provides an easy, comprehensive and intuitive programming environment for faster development. The wide range of functions ensures substantial and easy to configure projects and driver connectivity via OPC UA and DA.

Connectivity:

To ensure optimum connectivity, MOVICON™ 11 features a comprehensive, native I/O device driver library for all standard devices and PLCs. The architecture also features efficient connectivity for the distribution of client and server applications. The software development kit and the "shared memory" driver have an open design for the option of developing proprietary drivers.

Data recording / Databases

The process data is archived in relational databases or encrypted - data is recorded via ODBC technology, making projects independent of databases.
