From Indoor to Outdoor – HMI solutions for all areas
To ensure optimum, non-stop operation of HMIs in every environment, R. STAHL HMIs have been designed differently for INDOOR, PROTECTED OUTDOOR and OUTDOOR applications, as each environment places different demands on HMIs.
HMIs for Indoor
Our INDOOR HMIs are typically installed in pharmaceutical and chemical production facilities such as filling stations and clean rooms. With consideration given to the specific ambient conditions concerning temperature, humidity and cleanliness, they have been designed for use in these controlled environments. ORCA HMIs operate reliably under typical operating conditions; they are fitted with industrial-grade displays and feature smooth, easy-to-clean surfaces throughout. The HMIs are without fans and do not emit any particles – their focus is compliance with GMP guidelines, optimum ergonomics and user-friendliness. To complement and utilise the Remote HMI firmware, R. STAHL offers Box Thin Clients for control rooms and offices.
HMIs for Protected Outdoor
The typical application range for PROTECTED OUTDOOR HMIs features covered outdoor areas, partly protected facilities, loading ramps and shelters. These ORCA HMIs have an extended temperature range (-20 °C...+55 °C), higher IP protection (IP66) and greater UV resistance compared to typical Indoor HMIs. They are mechanically robust, resistant to normal levels of vibration and humidity, and provide corrosion protection for chemical plants.
HMIs FOR OUTDOOR & EXTREME ENVIRONMENTS
OUTDOOR HMIs have been designed for installation on offshore platforms, in desert regions and arctic climates as well as in chemical parks, tankfarms and refineries. As "rugged HMIs", SHARK HMIs are extremely robust and rated to IP66 / Nema 3X/4X. SHARK HMIs are UV resistant and salt spray resistant and can operate in temperatures ranging from -40 °C to +65 °C. The displays are readable even in direct sunlight and have a high resistance to vibration and shock (for example for installation on drilling rigs).
